The "Project management in the system of orders" project is being carried out in the COSTV. Two models of project management of orders were developed: project management of new product- and process development with a subsequent transition to serial production and management of individual production projects. Suitable organisation- and communication environment was established and system documentation was made. Both models were implemented in real environments of participating companies LIV Postojna and ETI Izlake.
D.07 Presiding over a centre/laboratory
Members of the PG M. Jezeršek, D. Bračun and Assoc.Prof. J. Diaci won the Puch award in 2006 for innovations and development achievements in the field of laser systems for 3D shape measurement. They have developed several innovative optical measuring systems based on the principle of the active triangulation which enable e.g. the company Alpina to produce footwear accommodated to the customer, the company GoodYear to dynamically test rubber products and air springs and the doctors in Slovenian national Clinic center to track the healing of wounds.
E.01 National awards
The developed device is intended for 3D measurement of size and shape of feet. Its function is based on laser triangulation with multiple-line illumination. Essential advantages of this device against its competition are mainly accuracy, speed of measurements and insensibility to outside disturbances. The device is used by domestic footwear manufacturer (Alpina) as an aid in advising and selecting the most suitable shoe size and volume - separately for the left and right foot. The system stores every measurement into a database which serves as a base for further development of new shoe models.

COBISS.SI-ID: 7558939Establishment of EMIRAcle-European Manufacturing and Innovation Research Association, a cluster leading excellence, The 6FP Network of Excellence, funded by the European Commission, has now been transformed into a sustainable association known as EMlRAcle. The objectives of this joint organisation of 20 European research institutions include scientific, technical and socio-economic aspirations. Its mission is to generate a breakthrough in vision, technological forecasting, strategic program development and organizational development for long-term, collaborative and concurrent research.
D.02 Establishment of a research centre, laboratory, study course, association
In 2004 prof. Grum accepted an invitation of Dr. Mohammed Dorgham, who is responsible, with the Inderscience Publ., for a range of science journals. Given an increasing importance of combining micro and nano structures with properties and behaviour of metal and non-metal materials and lack of such journals, the suggestion was rapidly accepted. An important step in founding the journal was a proposal to establish a Scientific Board, to which the Editor-in-Chief and the founder of the journal invited collaborators and colleagues engaged in the related fields from abroad.
