Pino Koc was an active member of a team of researchers who registered Slovenian and European patent for a Clipping assembly. The team consisted of engineers from factory Niko Železniki, Faculty of mechanical engineering and Institute of mathematics, physics and mechanics. A golden award was given for this innovation by the Chamber of economy of Slovenia (2006).

COBISS.SI-ID: 4964891Timber strength grading has been neglected in Slovenia, which results in large financial losses due to the fact that timber from Slovenian forests used in Slovena is usually graded in neighbouring countries. In the framework of two international projects (Combigrade and Gradewood), we have been co-preparing more effective and reliable methods for timber grading while simultaneously helping to implement the timber grading methods in the Slovenian practice.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2637921Advisers in graduation theses. Monography Mechanics of solids and structures. The student council elected S. Srpčič the best professor and D. Zupan the best assistant. Opened the access to the computer program Nodi. A textbook Non-linear computational structural mechanics through problems. The national competition in structural mechanics for high school students. This is a nice opportunity for them to meet academics prior to starting university studies.

COBISS.SI-ID: 126565120In period 2004–2007, D. Zupan served as a secretary of the Slovenian society for mechanics and co-organised its annual conferences named after the famous Slovenian mechanicist Anton Kuhelj. Zupan also acted as the co-editor and the reviewer of the Proceedings and the developer and manager of the information infrastructure of the Society. M. Saje was the reviewer and the chair of the section.

COBISS.SI-ID: 215625728The knowledge od setting time and strength during initial phase of hardening of concrete is essential for building planning. A cooperation with the IGMAT building institute in Ljubljana resulted in a numerical procedure for the prediction of adiabatic temperature curves in fresh hardening concrete; in a non-destructive method to obtain the setting time of cement paste; and in a method to predict current concrete strength.
