In the year 2004 we were nominated as one of 19 best research programmes in Slovenia. Selection was done by Slovenian Research Agency. The reason for our nomination were exceptional scientific achievements, tight cooperation with Slovenian industry (transfer of knowledge between university and industry) and very good international connections.
E.03 Other
Researchers in the Lab. for refrig. (LHT) follow trends in the development of alternative refrigerating technologies among which magnetic refrigeration is the most prominent one. Together with the centre CEMEK (lead by Prof. dr. I. Prebil) we have designed and constructed a magnetic refrigerator prototype. Refrigerator is a product of our knowledge and represents an innovative device (at present exist ~15 prototypes in the world), which will be used for testing magnetic materials and operational setups. Obtained results will help improve our knowledge in the field of magnetic refrigeration.

COBISS.SI-ID: 10176539This work presents continuation of research in the field of personalized ventilation for workplaces. He concentrated on the analysis of operation on local air-conditioning. An analysis of theoretical background for determining the local ventilation effectiveness and methods for measuring the mean age-of-air was made. Experimental analysis included measurements of concentrations, air velocity, local turbulence level in the breathing zone and visualization of air inflow. He performed simulations of the field of contaminant concentration using a CFD software and the comparison with measurements
E.01 National awards
COBISS.SI-ID: 9853211In LMPS around 60 students have completed their undergraduate studies (2004-2008) from the fields of flow, pressure, temperature and humidity measurements. Additionally, 2 candidates have successfully concluded their masters and doctoral studies. LMPS has also organized 5 workshops aimed at researchers in the industry. During the mentioned period (2004-2008) LMPS has preserved the accreditation according to the ISO 17025 as a calibration laboratory for pressure and temperature sensors, and according to the ISO 17020 as a control agency for blood pressure and tyre pressure measurements.
D.05 Laboratory accreditation
The exceptional socio-economic achievements is a knowledge transfer from university to the industry in the field of industrial energy flow management, where we have together with Krka d.d., cooperated in establishing their energy information centre. We have established tracking of energy, exergy and financial costs flows together with consumption of energy and water. Such system enables detection of weak points in the global system and implementation of various more efficient technological improvements. These have proven to be a very important part during company management decision making.
