The articles describe the TMF problems. Numerically, the approaches are very fast and stable. The temperature of the load cycle can change. Introducing equivalent temperature and improving the rainflow counting of load cycles has lead to the creation of an online algorithm that enables an connection with finite element methods as well as the solving of complex problems. The international project IWT has been started. Within the project the algorithm is transferred to LMS International, Belgium. It has undergone the testing successfully in the corporations BMW and Chrysler. (5 citations)

The article deals with the general numerical model of predicting the pitting process. It is based on the hypothesis that there are cracks of known length on the contact surface. The model with finite elements with the entered initial crack is loaded with the contact pressure that takes into account the impact of the conditions of elasto-hidrodynamic lubrication and tangential load as the consequence of the friction on the contact surfaces. It enables simulations of crack growth that results in pit formation. The results of research contribute to reliable prediction of pitting. (3 citations)

To predict the reliability, it is necessary to know the load spectra. It is not possible to carry out the measurements at all possible combinations of the conditions of use and environment. The missing spectra can be gathered by the neuron networks based on the local basis functions. It was proved that the possibility of extrapolation is lost by the mentioned network. The problem is solved by introducing a combined multi-layer perceptron. The results have already been used in international and applicative projects, such as PROBELL, and contribute to the reduction of the testing time and costs.

The article present the procedure of predicting distribution parameters that can be used for a normal, lognormal and Weibull parametric family as well as for one or more random variables. Cooperating with the Austrian Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Institut für Angewandte Statistik, and in the frame of the international project »Risk assessment and audit under Basel II«, the alternative procedure is evaluated according to all necessary statistic criteria. In 2008, cooperation with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University was established. (10 citations)

The articles present the modelling of the S-N curves, taking into account the conditional Weibull and lognormal p.d.f. of the number of load cycles to failure with the multi-layer perceptron. Additionally, the procedure of working out the parameters of the c.d.f. that are basically mixed distributions was developed. The procedure is based on neuron networks. The value of achievement is in the reduction of the needed number of tests and costs for determining the S-N curves and in a better determination of these curves, especially when the number of influential factors is larger.
