The project aim is to improve industrial robot design philosophy with respect to the state of the art by identifying new applications to substitute less flexible mechanically based manufacturing tools. The work of our team was focused on specific tasks related to the implementation of the visual guidance of an industrial robot and development of sensor data processing software, and calibration of the sensory system. Experimental platform was put together to achieve the above goals.

COBISS.SI-ID: 20751655In March 2008, the member of our programme Peter Korošec was awarded Jožef Stefan Golden Emblem Prize. The Institute awards Jožef Stefan Golden Emblem Prize for winning PhD dissertations in the fields of natural sciences, and medicine and biotechnology. In addition, he was awarded the Trimo Research Award for the applicability of the theoretical results in engineering problems in practice.
E.01 National awards
COBISS.SI-ID: 229802496The purpose of the conferences is to provide a forum for presentation and discussion of the latest theoretical and applied results in bioinspired optimization methodology and its applications. Members of our research programme actively participate in the international Program Committee. Each biennial BIOMA conference gathers real international audience. The conference is scheduled in six sessions in two days covering the main topics of bioinspired optimization methodologies and applications.

COBISS.SI-ID: 241035264It is well known that IEEE Std 1149.1 test infrastructure is vulnerable to hackers. In order to solve the problem, a security extension of IEEE Std 1149.1 consisting of standard test bus locking mechanism was developed. Patent application for the developed security extension was submitted to the Slovenian Intellectual Property Office, and patent no. 21978 was granted in 2006.

COBISS.SI-ID: 19511591We have implemented public-domain server application for modern menu planning for healthy people as well as people with special dietary needs. The application was used for optimizing typical menus for workers, preschool and school children, students and patients. The application is also of public importance because it gives an insight into nutritional data collected in Slovene laboratories in last years simply by using the Internet.
