The new method for "in situ" synthesis of aluminide on nickel, titanium or iron substrate was patent protected. The method enables synthesis od thin layer of aluminide that protects the surface at high temperature oxidation or other type of corrosion. Because of specific properties such surface protection is useful where good corrosion resistance or resistance to high temperature oxidation is demanded. The benefit of this methos is thin layer of aluminide, diffusion bonded to substrate.
F.09 Development of a new technological process or technology
COBISS.SI-ID: 563626Steel AISI 321 was cold deformed and annealed 8 minutes at 1060 oC in three atmospheres. We established that austenite was transformed to deformation induced martensite. The concentration profile through the oxide layer was measured by AES analysis. The corrosion tests in 3.5 % solution of NaCl revealed that the most corrosion resistant is oxide formed on air. Les corrosion resistant was oxide formed in nitrogen or in protective atmosphere, that was mixture of hydrogen and nitrogen. The results are important for the users of such type of steels.

This is important for the spring steels where the surface is more loaded and it should be without decarburisation. In the Štore Steel there are preparations for industrial application of the protective coating.

This demands lower consumption of energy and enable recycling of scrap direct to remelting furnace. Presented ware results of research of components and comparison with thixocasting process, benefits and minuses of both processes. Results are important fo Cimos d.d., important producer of automotive parts.

COBISS.SI-ID: 637610For spring steels are demands for quality of surface very high, because the surface is exposed to mechanical fatigue. The fatigue tests were performed on resonant pulser with the use of standard Charpy samples with V notch. The tests confirmed that determination of Woehler curve with resonant pulser is possible and cheap compared to standard rotating bend test. This is important for the producer of spring steel because of easier control of the steel quality. Increase of quality of spring steel represents higher price of steel and better position on the market of spring steels.
