This paper reports the design of a tailor made polymeric membrane by using poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(butylene terephthalate) (PEO-PBT) multi-block copolymers. Their properties are controlled by the fraction of the PEO phase and its molecular weight. To explain the effect of structural changes in copolymer membranes, transport properties of four gases (CO2, H2, N2, and CH4) are discussed.

High internal phase emulsions (HIPEs) incorporating styrene, 4-vinylbenzyl chloride, divinylbenzene and ethylhexyl acrylate were applied to prepare reactive, cross-linked porous membranes with open cellular architecture and thicknesses between 30 and 500 µm.

The corrosion inhibition characteristics of non-ionic surfactants of the TRITON-X series, known as TRITON-X-100 and TRITON-X-405, on stainless steel (SS) type X4Cr13 in sulphuric acid were investigated by potentiodynamic polarisation measurements. It was found that these surfactants act as good inhibitors of the corrosion of stainless steel in 2 mol L-1 H2SO4 solution, but the inhibition efficiency strongly depends on the electrode potential.

The registered current noise was decomposed into a set of band-limited details, which contain information about corrosion events occurring at a determined time-scale. The characterization of corrosion processes on pitting, general corrosion and passivity, on the basis of in the wavelet domain calculated Hurst parameter H and fractal dimension, D, of electrochemical noise signals has been established.

The densities of ethanol and ethanol-water mixtures were measured with a vibrating tube densimeter at 25.0, 50.0 and 75.0°C in the pressure range from 0.10 to 40.00 MPa. Densities were correlated using an empirical model. Partial molar volumes, excess molar volumes, isothermal compressibilities, cubic expansion coefficients and internal pressures were calculated from obtained densities.
