Project by WWF, one of the leading international organizations in nature conservation, helps to fulfill commitments of countries towards the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and builds on the establishment of an effective network of protected areas in the Dinaric Ecoregion (Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Albania) with a goal of prevention of rapid biodiversity decline (Countdown 2012). Scientific part of the project is supported by five National Scientific Coordinators appointed by responsible ministries.
