COBISS.SI-ID: 19318823The group has co-organized a number of international meetings in the last four years, on average more than one per year. Particularly important is the yearly international nanoscience and nanotechnology conference SLONANO, which we are chairing since the beginning in 2002. We co-organized a Gordon conference on ultrafast spectroscopy in complex systems in Buellton, CA. Members of the group have had more than 30 invited talks at international meetings. Members have also lectured at numerous universities; Oxford, UC Berkeley, Stanford, Cambridge (UK), UCLA, UC Santa Barbara, Bologna, Vienna, etc.
B.01 Organiser of a scientific meeting
COBISS.SI-ID: 21756199In the preceding period we have been partner in four EU projects (Nanotemp, Desygn-it, Eremon, Eresin and Comephs). The group leader founded and is currently directing the Center of Excellence in Nanoscience and nanotechnology which includes 4 research organisations and more than 20 companies. The group leader is the Slovenian representative in IUPAP and has spent 4 years on the physical sciences board of NATO as the Slovenian representative, ending as vice-president. He is currently a member of the Expert Advisory group in IMP of the 7th Framework programme.
D.01 Chairing over/coordinating (international and national) projects
COBISS.SI-ID: 20564775An important achievement in the application of scientific discoveries is the commercialization of MoSI nanowires. In 2004 the candidate formed a spin-off company to commercialize the material. MoSI nanowires have become the subject of research in a large number of groups in Slovenia and worldwide and are being investigated in a number of industrial laboratories.
F.32 International patent
COBISS.SI-ID: 19782695In the last period the group has introduced nanoelectronics in Slovenia with the construction of facilities for e-beam lithography and manipulation and characterization of nanoelectronic circuits.
