The paper explores three classes of time that give shape to youth entrepreneurship in modern-day Slovenia. The first is historical time, which created entrepreneurship of the young as social fact and practice. The second is the time of being young as a period in life shaped by intergenerational relations, institutions, public discourses, regulations and norms, however, also an age that young people want to leave a mark on with their own acts. The third time (or a complex of times) is activated by young entrepreneurs’ activities; it is the time as lived and reflected by themselves. The paper is an ethnographic contribution to the studies of time in the context of economy as doctrine and practice.

The article presents developmental trends in ethnology and cultural anthropology, focusing on the use of ethnographic approaches outside academic institutions. Using examples of interdisciplinary and applied projects, it describes three promising developmental guidelines. The first appears in the use of ethnography for creating solutions, services and products in industry. The second appears in interdisciplinary cooperation, yet not only among social scientists, but also with scientists from technologies and other fields. The third appears in the orientation towards studying digital technologies, content and spaces, which are a vibrant domain of innovation, as well as the use of digital approaches for building upon ethnography.
