The article analyses the role of commeoratiove cooperations in the Italo-Slovene borderland and between Italy and Yugoslavia in the Cold War. It emphasises the role of veterans organizations and the cooperation of the State regarding the social aspect of these initiatives. This importance is evident especially in the organization of diggings and in the monumentalization of memory. The essay is based on original documents from the Archive of Yugoslavia and the Diplomatic Archive of Serbia.
