How urban design and planning in contemporary shifting conditions (climate change and other environmental and spatial challenges) are addressed is strongly connected to how the spatial issues are framed, detected and analysed. Rapid evolution in Information and communications technologies has brought the potentials of urban analytics onto subsequent levels and consequently better prospects for well informed decisions. However, the question is: are we prepared for this shift and do we have sufficient knowledge and methods to foster sustainable urban development.
