We presented on the international event a study conducted among telecare users – t.i. family carers of older people. The results of the study were discussed in the light of the study we are planning to conduct within this project. We presented which findings on the psychological outcomes of telecare use will be tested within our national representative study among family carers of older people as well as in the intervention study, and how are we going to incorporate them in the questionnaire. The study within present project will thus partly build on the results of the study that aimed to identify the positive and negative psychological outcomes for working family carers of older people of using six features of telecare services. This qualitative study in which two telecare services were tested for four months by 22 working family carers of older people yielded some interesting results. Activity monitoring and app notifications were identified as the features with the most psychological outcomes. The most commonly mentioned positive psychological outcome of telecare for family carers was reassurance, followed by peace of mind and reduced anxiety. The most frequently mentioned negative outcomes were anxiety, distrust and stress. This paper is going to be published in the reviewed proceedings of lectures, which were delayed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
