A bilateral workshop »The CSI micro-workshop on projects in the field of Care in an Ageing Society« with Dutch researchers from the Centre of Expertise Health Innovation at the Hague University of Applied Science (Joost van Hoof, Jeroen Dikken, Bregje Thomassen) was organized at the end of January 2020. These researchers are active in the same field as we are, focusing on the ageing society and the potentials of the smart technology enabled care services in the ageing society. CDI research team presented Dutch colleagues with the project idea, and the current adn planned project activities (e.g. introductory theoretical reviews and a research design). Thus, an important aspect of international dissemination was carried out and scientific feedback was obtained. Consultations on the possibility of participation in similar project were done and information on the possibilities of the dissemination of project results was obtained.

COBISS.SI-ID: 36617053We participated at the international event that was organized within the Ithaca project. The event took place on 16.12.2019 at the University Medical Center (UMC) Ljubljana. The 9-member delegation NHS Liverpool met with our research group (UL FSS Centre for Social Informatics), UMC representatives and other important Slovenian stakeholders in this field (Telekom Slovenije, MKS Electronic Systems Ltd., Health Center Trebnje, Social Protection Institute of the Republic of Slovenia, National Institute of Public Health, Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities, General Hospital Slovenj Gradec). Various contexts of long-term care and e-health, aspects of smart technologies in the field of health and social care and a national review of telemedicine in Slovenia were discussed at the event. As part of the event, key challenges of long-term care system in Slovenia and intervention studies addressing them (including our project) were presented by Dr. Vesna Dolinčar, with the emphasis on the importance to better understand the acceptance factors and the outcomes of smart technology enabled care services use prior to its wider deployment. Thus, an important aspect of international dissemination was carried out and professional feedback and in-depth insight into understanding the functioning and deployment of such systems was gained. Wide media attention was received by the event being reported by RTV Slovenia, Večer, 24ur.com, Delo, Siol.net among others.
F.18 Transfer of new know-how to direct users (seminars, fora, conferences)
COBISS.SI-ID: 36618077Slovenia is one of the most rapidly ageing European countries with a low birth rate, increasing life expectancy, and a large population of citizens who are 65 years and older. Currently, the Slovenian long-term care system is fragmented and the acceptance of smart technology is low. With the purpose to raise awareness in general public, but in particular among older people and their informal carers, we participated in a roundtable at the 19th Festival of the Third Age in Ljubljana. We presented the potentials of smart technologies and discussed about the reasons why these technologies are less used in Slovenia. In addition we talked about the necessity of the research in this field. We also outlined our research activities in the area of assistive telecare systems' acceptability and outcomes of assistive telecare systems' use that focus on family carers as end-users. Namely, there is limited theoretical understanding of the factors that affect the acceptance of and the intention to use assistive telecare systems among the family carers of old people, and also about the outcomes of assistive telecare systems use. Even less is known about the effects of the spatial context of care on assistive telecare systems’ acceptance.
