The exhibition Zidovi/Walls, on view from June 14 to August 18, 2019 at National Museum from Contemporary History of Slovenia, dealt with walls in contemporary Europe - understood as physical reality and as symbolic border in »divided« cities: in Berlin, Gorizia/ Nova Gorica and Sarajevo. Although many real and symbolic walls have been demolished, new ones have been erected in their place and some still deeply disturb our society. The project helped to understand these facts and build a sense of belonging among citizens. Five partners (National Museum of Contemporary History, Beletrina Publishing House, Berlin Wall Foundation, History Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Quarantasettezeroquattro) from four countries (Slovenia, Germany, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy) joined forces and highlighted the significant transitions of Europe's historical heritage through the issue of walls.
