This volume argues that Wittgenstein's philosophy of religion and his thought in general continue to be highly relevant for present and future research on interreligious relations. Spanning several (sub)disciplines - from philosophy of religion, philosophy of language, comparative philosophy, comparative theology, to religious studies - the contributions engage with recent developments in interpretation of Wittgenstein and those in philosophy and theology of interreligious encounter. The book shows that there is an important and under-explored potential for constructive and fruitful engagement between these academic fields. It explores, and attempts to realize, some of this potential by involving both philosophers and theologians, and critically assesses previous applications of Wittgenstein's work in interreligious studies.

Bojan Žalec is a co-author and co-editor of the scientific monograph which was published by the important scientific publishing house Lit Verlag. Religion and intercultural dialogue are of the highest importance for the modern world in all respects, from entirely practical to purely academic. The authors show, first, that religion as such is not a cause of violence nor a destructor or stopper of the (intercultural) dialogue, and that the path of dialogue leads through religion, and not through its marginalization or even elimination. Second, the origin of conflict is not a cultural diversity or differentiation but rather a lack or absence of true cultural differentiation. It follows that the role of religion is crucial because cultures have a religious origin. As such, and because of its modern interdisciplinary approach, which increasingly dominates in humanities, the book brings a valuable collection of scientific papers of authors of mainly Central European origin.

In a broader context, the main focus of paper is the question of the importance of cultivation of an active, sincere interreligious dialogue, in the context of contemporary migrations, that recognizes and breaks down negative stereotypes and prejudices, raises the level of tolerance, respect and strengthens mutual understanding both in the everyday life of individuals of different religions and spiritualities as well as at the hierarchical institutional religious levels. In narrower context the importance of positive contribution of women’s voices as a missing link in the interreligious dialogue and the phenomenon of the so-called women's religious peacebuilding will also be analised. Good practices of women's voices of initiatives in Christian-Muslim dialogue in the Slovenian context are also presented. Inter-religious dialogue and peacebuilding are often seen, by religious and secular actors, as the natural antidote to religious violence or identity conflicts with a religious dimension.
