The topic of the fate of the Jewish movable heritage in Prekmurje after the end of World War II is broad and complex, especially due to the fact that in the interwar period the largest number of registered members of the Jewish community in Slovenia lived in Prekmurje. At the same time, Prekmurje Jews were the greatest victims of the Holocaust in Slovenia and it is therefore difficult to follow the fate of their artworks and other assets. This is particularly true in most cases where the owners perished in the war and their property was seized during or after the war. For this reason, the author focuses primarily on the fate of the movable heritage owned by the Jewish community and partly to the post-war nationalization, with the main focus on the interior equipment of the synagogues in Murska Sobota and Lendava, and the possible remnants of the synagogues in Beltinci, already abolished before the Second World War.
