COBISS.SI-ID: 2916803Influence of urban planning on travel habits and mobility behaviour of citizen has been underestimated for a long time in Slovenia. Trends related to growth of motorization have been explained as a result of development of society and increased accessibility of private cars. Only in the last decade cities started to actively promote alternative modes of transport, the so-called sustainable mobility. Realizing that the types of neighbourhoods the residents live in and availability of different alternatives and new services has an important impact on the way the residents travel and use public space. The presentation is focused on good examples of policies and initiatives from Ljubljana and other Slovenian towns.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2914499The paper presents Slovenia's experience in the field of regional Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans. The regional dimension of planning has proven to be a very important missing element of spatial and transport planning in recent years. Therefore, within the European project PUMAS, we prepared the first regional SUMP for the Goriška region. Experience has shown several challenges that arise on this scale and that will need to be adequately addressed in the future. Despite these findings, the planning orientation on this administrative level is strengthening in Slovenia.

COBISS.SI-ID: 2883267The conference paper presents a reflection on the relationship between sustainable mobility, green space planning and the promotion of physical activity of the population. These three areas are traditionally divided between three different sectors in municipal administrations. Often, due to poor integration between sectors, there is little or no cooperation despite similar goals. By connecting them, it would be easier to achieve the set objective of each sector. Besides that, several synergies between the measures would also appear.
