The study gives an overview of the situation in the field of GHG emissions in the Slovenian industry. It outlines the goals of climate policy, presents the state of energy in the Slovenian industry by industry, and provides a sectoral analysis based on the use of relevant available data in the field of energy use, economic activities, the use of material resources and releases of GHGs in the Slovenian industry. Energy-intensive industries have been highlighted (metal production, other non-ferrous metals production, chemicals production, paper production, food and beverage production, non-metallic mineral products) and other industries were. Furthermore, good practices for mitigating GHG emissions in energy intensive industry are presented. A spatial presentation of the intensity levels of energy and emission flows is also presented. In the form of statistical sheets, key trends in CO2, CH4 and N2O emissions from combustion of fuels and processes are presented separately for energy-intensive and other industries. It can be pointed out that so far no such study or a more detailed review of the situation in the field of GHG emissions has been carried out, which would deal in more detail with the manufacturing sector.
F.30 Professional assessment of the situation
COBISS.SI-ID: 32182055The document presents the results of the survey given in the deliverable I2_1 Analysis of the implementation of GHG emission reduction measures in Slovenian industry, and sheds light on the situation in the field of GHG emission reduction measures in the Slovenian industry. The aim of the survey was to gain insight into the state of technology and already implemented and planned measures in the areas of energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and other measures related to reducing GHG emissions in industry. In 2019, the Statistical Office of Slovenia launched a pilot project to collect more detailed statistics on energy use in industry. The methodology of such data collection on the purposes of energy use in industry is expected to be implemented in the coming year 2020. Results of the survey represent the methodological basis for the development of the reference energy and emission model of Slovenian industry. The developed model will serve as a tool in support of environmental and energy policy planning.
F.30 Professional assessment of the situation
COBISS.SI-ID: 33205799The document presents the model results of the scenarios analyzed using the methodology for evaluating GHG reduction measures in industry. An analysis of scenarios to promote GHG emission reductions in industry is presented. In the introduction, current situation in industrial sector is highlighted and influential parameters of the developed models are presented along with the planned industrial activity. The design of scenarios is also reported along with the envisaged model technologies and foreseen measures, as well as scenario assumptions by the considered industries. The concluding part of the document presents the results of the analysis and comparison of two scenarios, namely the scenario with existing measures (reference) and the ambitious scenario with additional measures. In the conclusion the model projections of GHG emissions (ETS and non ETS) by industry are presented and macroeconomic effects of the considered scenarios are evaluated.
