The law has always been used as a basic means of non-violent communication. In doing so, it uses terminology which shows that in a solid framework of the conceptual system it does not change often over time, yet at the same time there is an ever-emerging need for more precise designations. The article discusses Slovenian legal terminology. It first describes it from the perspective of its historical development and then focuses on the presentation of the Slovenian legal concept system in Pravni terminološki slovar (Dictionary of Legal Terminology, 2018), which contains Slovenian legal terminology after 1991. The article presents the design of the dictionary, which takes into account the dictionary user and normativity, as well as the entry structure.
