The textbook is a basic learning material for students of the study programme Physiotherapy at the Faculty of Health Sciences of the University of Ljubljana, who listen to lectures and join the practical courses at the subject Cell biology on the Institute of cell biology of the Faculty of medicine in Ljubljana. The textbook is divided into two parts. In the first part is given the theoretical basis of cell biology, which students must learn to successfully accomplish practical courses and pass the final exam at the end of the practical courses. The second part of this textbook represents a guide with the instructions for practical work at practical courses and for the preparation of a report that a student needs to meet and is considered as a proof of active participation at each practical course. This textbook is a basic learning device for students when preparing for a colloquium and an exam for the subject Cell biology and is the first one of this type of learning material in Slovenia that students hardly waited for. Namely, this textbook is an important acquisition for students, as well as for pedagogical workers, since it facilitates the work at practical courses and rises the quality of pedagogical process as well as the individual studying of students.

COBISS.SI-ID: 298670848Dictionary is composed of introduction with rules and recommendations about composition of the terms and main text with translations of individual term. We were trying to find the best Slovene term corresponding to individual English term. In the cases, when foreign term is already used in our professional language we stated also that term. We added abbreviation SMS to some Slovene terms, which stands for Slovene Medical Dictionary. In this way we wanted to emphasize that this term is rewritten from SMS. Sometimes the term rewritten from SMS is the only one, but most of the times it is just one of the many options. In most cases terms are just translated, yet in some cases we added additional explanation due to clarity. Perhaps someone will miss more explanations, we decided that this is merely dictionary and not lexicon.

COBISS.SI-ID: 302072576Between 2000 and 2015, global antibiotic consumption increased by 65% (Klein et al, Proc Natl Acad Sci USA, 115 (15), 2018). Epidemiological studies have shown an association between an increase in antibiotic consumption and the occurrence and spread of antibiotic-resistant bacteria (Zaman et al, Cureus, 9 (6), 2017; Ventola, P T, 40 (4), 2015). In the European Union, 25,000 people die each year from infections with antibiotic-resistant microorganisms (ECDC / EMEA Technical report - The bacterial challenge: time to react; 2009). Due to the development of the emergence and spread of antibiotic-resistant microorganisms, there is a great need for the discovery of new antimicrobial agents. The present procedure for the preparation of amniotic membrane homogenate allows the preparation of a product that acts as an antimicrobial agent. The procedure is suitable for the preparation of homogenates from the human amniotic membrane as well as from the amniotic membrane of other animal species. The final product acts as an antimicrobial agent for selected clinically important bacteria, including multidrug-resistant bacteria.

COBISS.SI-ID: 34223065The Act on the Treatment of Infertility and Biomedically Assisted Fertilization does not restrict the right to artificial insemination with age but stipulates that a woman must be of an age suitable for childbirth. It depends on the individual, as well as whether it is fertilization with one's own or with a donated egg. Because there are differences between individuals, it is difficult to say which boundary is unequivocally appropriate for all. In general, however, doctrine and research examining changes at the level of cells and the organism suggest that the probability of successful fertilization decreases statistically significantly with age. This also increases the risk of developing a child with certain chromosomal defects.
