UiO-66 is one of the most stable MOFs and therefore one of the most studied ones. It is interesting that despite this stability, it is relatively easy to substitute part of the framework BDC linkers with other linkers. In this article we thoroughly studied the mechanism of exchange of BDC linkers with BDC-NH2 linkers and the role of the solvent methanol molecules in this process. NMR spectroscopy was an imporatnt part of the study, because it enabled us to determine the arrangement of BDC and BDC-NH2 linkers within the framework of the modified UiO-66.
