In the fiften-minute radio show Frequency X broadcasted on a national radio station Val 202, Luka Hvalc hosted dr. Aleš Marsetič, Research fellow at the Department of Remote Sensing at the Institute of Antropological and Spatial Studies of Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. His main research work are photogrammetric applications in satellite remote sensing, registration and processing of optical satellite imagery, spatial analysis and analyses of laser scanning data (lidar). He has expertise in the automatization of processes involving satellite data preprocessing with innovative models. He also participates in the designing and construction of small satellites. In the show, they discussed the four archaeological expeditions in the Mexican federal state of Campeche, where he partecipated. At the field work he was responsible for measuring and mapping of archaeological sites along with processing and 3D visualization of data. They talked also about the Slovenian small satellite and the processing of satellite images and its possible applications.
