We found normal trends in 4 skeletal muscles developmental trends for boys and girls. We have also provided trend in young athletes where it is important to see that sport activity effects on skeletal muscles are not symmetrical but rather affects those muscles where habitual load is the lowest.

We have reported data from athletes, younger adults and elderly. We found that nonathletes have similar interaction between skeletal muscle fiber size and capillarization regardless of their age. However not in athletes, where after injury have similar as nonathletes. That is an important factor to be considered in return after sport injury.

We have patented a new method and device for non-invasive and selective determination of biomechanical, contractile and viscoelastic properties of surface skeletal muscles that will be used in the framework of our project. Itr will be used for detection of a safe return after injury
