Research in the Arts, the Arts in Research was an international symposium hosted by University of Lodz and the research initiative Cultural Literacy in Europe, and co-organized by Jernej Habjan. The aim of the symposium was to critically historicize the modern institutional differentiation between the fields of research and arts. The speakers brought various philosophical, philological, and artistic approaches to the debate, gesturing towards practice as the realm in which any difference between the arts and research becomes questionable both epistemologically and aesthetically.

The Society of Slovenian Translators awarded Zdravko Kobe, who translated and edited this book, while also providing supplementary text, with prestigious Jerman Award for exceptional translations in the filed of social sciences and the humanities. The book is aprt of course syllabi for students of philosophy and is of great importance for the broader fields of the humanities and social sciences.

Dolar was also a Visiting Professor at the University of Chicago in the fall of 2017, where he set out to develop his original theory of the voice as object and provide a critique of the classical notion of truth.
