In January 2017, as a visiting researcher in the Suicide Research interest Group of the Department of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy at the Medical University of Vienna, Vita Poštuvan gave a lecture on the development and implementation of the STARS protocol - Screening Tool for Assessing Risk of Suicide.

COBISS.SI-ID: 17966937This research addresses the usefulness of mindfulness for gatekeepers (professionals who are working with people in distress), specifically, participants of the program NARA – Strength to professionals through mindfulness. Professionals from the fields of social work, psychology, medicine, educational and pedagogical work, police work in other fields participated in the study. Majority of them assessed the program as useful in the context of their work with people in distress and for coping with workloads. By means of qualitative analysis, the model was conceptualized. The proposed model represents a step forward in understanding the usefulness of mindfulness for gatekeepers and relations between individual aspects of it.

COBISS.SI-ID: 302806528On World Suicide Prevention Day (10 September 2019), a professional meeting entitled »Together for suicide prevention - yesterday, today, tomorrow« was organized in Ljubljana in cooperation of several institutions (National Institute of Public Health, Slovene Association for Suicide Prevention, National Association for Quality of Life Ozara Slovenia, UP IAM Slovene Centre for Suicide Research). The members of the project group participated in the organizing committee and with the presentation of professional contributions, lectures and workshops. As a part of the event, a collection of contribution was published: Roškar, S. et al. (2019). Together for suicide prevention. Public Health, 2019, 07, 1-12.

COBISS.SI-ID: 4571621In the years 2017-2019, we organized an international scientific conference Triple i, at which renowned experts gave lectures. It was attended by over 160 international participants. As part of the conference, a summary booklet was issued (editors: Diego De Leo and Vita Poštuvan) on http://zivziv.si/triple-i/. The conference represents an important socio-economic contribution of our work in Slovenia, as it helps to connect experts in the field of suicidology. The conference addresses a wide range of topics on research, prevention and interventions in suicidology. Discussions and presentations allow the flow of knowledge between professionals and those who want to learn more about the field of suicidology.
