The contribution presents the implementation of the contemporary non-invasive three-dimensional method for back and face asymmetry detection in everyday clinical practice. The modalities of soft tissue surface of the back and face aquisition as well as the developped process for data analysis is make known. Moreover, the protocol of intervention and treatment in case of anomalies detection , specifically among patients with unilateral functional crossbite is also presented. For the novelty of the approach the two authors and researchers included in the project were awarded by the European orthodontic society.

COBISS.SI-ID: 34533593Within the invited lecture, the contemporary diagnostic processess and treatmetn planning of transverse discrepancies, including unilateral functional crossbite, were presented. Moreover, the methdologies for non-invasive diagnosis of back and face deviations, developped within the present research project, were presented. Both advantages and disadvantages were put forward as well as the possibilities of their implementation in everyday clinical work. Furthermore, the scientific results of the study conducted on subjects with unilateral functional crossbite were also showed.
B.04 Guest lecture
COBISS.SI-ID: 34549721The project leadre was an incited associated editor for the special issue of the journal Biomed research international entitled Orthodontics in growing patients : clinical/biological evidence and technological advancement.
C.03 Guest-associated editor
COBISS.SI-ID: 34073561at the international congress of the European orthodontis socienty we were selected for oral presentation (lecture) of the resulta of the research project. Being selected for oral presentation means an international confirmation of the soundness and quality of the research work, since only the most relevant are being selected; moreover the visibility of the research work is being increased.
B.03 Paper at an international scientific conference
COBISS.SI-ID: 34530265In the updated version of the textbook we included som contemporary three-dimensional diagnostic methods for which we expect that are going to become part of the ruotine clinically used methods in the following years.
