A numerical simulation of light transport in simulated biological tissues was performed for various illumination line widths and optical properties. It was demonstrated that the line-width selection has a significant impact on intensity distribution of the diffuse reflected light.

COBISS.SI-ID: 3168356A numerical simulation of light transport in highly realistic models of healthy and inflamed human joints/fingers was performed at different wavelengths in the 400-1100 nm spectral region. Specific spectral and spatial features were identified which will help discriminating inflamed from healthy joints.
