The project leader had a public lecture at the National Institute of Biology, which was published on the Tromba website (Agency for the Promotion of Science, Creativity and Innovation) and is fully accessible on the web portal "videolectures.net" (http: // videolectures. net / nib_zajc_halofilne_glive /). In her lecture, she presented the life environments of halophilic fungi and their adaptive mechanisms that enable them to thrive in conditions of low water availability and high levels of toxic ions. Motivation for these research is in addition to basic scientific curiosity, their potential usefulness for industrial and agricultural purposes. In the lecture the findings on the case of the most halophilic fungus described so far Wallemia ichthyophaga and halotolerant yeasts of the genus Aureobasidium were presented.
