Abstract
We will try to develop new synthetic methods for the preparation of interesting potentially bilogically active species. Alpha-Halopyruvamides as starting compounds belong to alpha-haloketons, interesting compounds in organic synthesis. They will be prepared form geminal dicyano oxiranes through cyanohydrin intermediates, transformed thermaly to alpha-halopyruvamides. We wil carry out reactions with different binucleophiles on alpha-halopyruvamides. We will also try to transform the latter compounds into alpha-keto beta-laktames. The reactional mechanism will be studied and new products structurally characterized. Screening of the bilogical activity of isolated compounds will be realized. We expect from isolated structurally different compounds to be stabel enough for biological screening in the direction of potential citostatic and anti-inflammatory properties.
