Significance for science
Development and synthesis of new metallic compounds with improved properties for hydrogen storage (high storage capacity, low loading pressure and low desorption temperature, high absorption-desorption cycling ability) is of high relevance for the development of the scientific field "hydrogen economy" with respect to the hydrogen-storage materials for the fuel-cell technology.
Significance for the country
Due to the high demand for an improved fuel-cell powering technology in Slovenia and worldwide, heading toward the ecologically clean hydrogen economy, the newly developed hydrogen-storage materials with improved properties are expected to have high scientific and socio-economic impact on Slovenian science and society.
