Abstract
In the frame of the project ''Development of PowerQ4 electronic measuring platform'' a modern family of electrical devices for measurement and quality analysis of electrical installations, power networks, devices,…in cooperation with Metrel d.d. company, one of the leading manufacturer of this type of devices worldwide. Because the company wish to sustain and even improve their position in a global world market, they need a new generation of products, where newer, higher technical standards will be considered. Therefore, development and construction of four variants of measuring devices with appropriately designed housings is planed: 1. transportable (indoor) model for laboratory and industrial measurements (ergonomically designed, lightweight), 2. transportable (outdoor) model for outdoor measurement (water resistant and ergonomic housing, lightweight), 3. panel model for fixed mounting on a power lockers door and 4. panel model for fix mounting on a power lockers.
Due to these devices being the product of high technical nature, therefore being eligible to highest international standards and requirements, their testing can only be performed on form and material realization identical to the final version. This means that: A. It is necessary to produce all components of the instrument and housing with original materials, original properties and identical surface coating; B. It is also necessary to produce the initial 4 instrument (one of each version) and further 30 instrument batch by the same method with identical materials and surface coatings then serial products manufactured for world market (app. 1000-5000 units/year), regardless to the high cost of tool production. C. Development of new generation of electric devices will also include the development of tools for constructional components, housing elements and surface coatings.
Significance for science
Interaction among researching institutions and production industry has a positive consequences from economic point of view as well as for our society in general. Different institutions of University may improove the potentials they generate, explore and examine in there activity.
On the other hand, the implementation of the research results in to the production has a pragmatic meaning for the students: they are faced with real applications, which could be directly applied in economics use. And that cooperation among the Faculties and companies is an example of positive practice in use.
Significance for the country
Measuring instrument for elektrical quality control are defined with international IEC norms and standards, what mean the source for reasonable handling with energy in our environment.
It supports:
- optimisation of electric energy in the frame of users and distributers,
- for surching defects in the net,
- statistics of electrical energy quality measurement, what make possible intercellular comparison among the distributers and electrical energy producers,
- all instruments wil be produced in Metrel in Slovenia (Horjul), what means also a guarantee for employment of residents in Slovenia.
