Abstract
The main goals of the project are geotechnical guidelines from the sight of existent and new knowledge in the phase of design, construction and exploitation of pumping power station Kozjak. The construction of the structure is foreseen near Water Power-Station Fala on Drava River. Inflow structure and the engine-house of 85 m in depth will be located at the eastern side of Drava River between Fala and “Šturmova graba”. The pressure tunnel will lay 200 m deep in the east slope of the Kozjak. The appropriate location for the upper water-storage reservoir according to the first estimations is to be on the levelled peaks of the ascents at the Kolar’s peak. The whole region is basically built of the complex of metamorphic rocks, at the Drava River and the toes of the slopes there are quaternary side and river alluviums. The metamorphic rocks originate from the old erogeneity sinking that were accompanied by folding of wider region. Later on tectonic joints along different joint systems arise. With rising and sinking of the local tectonic blocks, the wide tectonic zones filled with crumbled metamorphic rocks arisen. In such complicated geological conditions will be located constructions of Pumping Power-Station Kozjak. The presented project comprises: - the study of geological and environmental conditions of the erection of individual constructions with water-storage reservoir, - plan of all urgently necessary researches and other activities at the design, erection and exploitations of constructions, - the suggestion of the micro location of the individual constructions with the suggestion of the hydrogeological monitoring. Suspected results of the investigation: - Guidelines for hydrogeology of the influenced area Kozjak. - Guidelines for geotechnical desining of the power station, pipe line and accumulation lake. - Guidelines for production and review of project task.
Significance for science
The research project is significant for the development of applicative science in the field of engineering geology, hydrogeology, geomechanics and geotechnical engineering. The influences of the pumping power station in the phase of building and exploitation on hydro-geological conditions in the environment are analyzed. In order to study any constructional and working conditions regarding the planned structures, an analyses of hydro-geological and other environmental conditions, are carried-out. Analyses of the water and the ground, regarding any influences on the environment are performed by involving chemical and microbiological investigations of the water. The considering of deformations and stresses in pumping pipeline due to movements in tectonic fault are analyzed. To estimate this stress-strain response mathematical model in form of differential equation was made. The variables in analysis are relative movement in tectonic fault, width of tectonic fault, area of pipeline cross-section, pipeline strength, compact rock strength and remolded rock strength. Inner forces or stresses and strains in pipeline cross-section are determined through analysis. It is found out that the width of tectonic fault essentially influence their distribution along tectonic fault width. The analytical solutions are comparable with solution obtained according to the finite element method. The basis for geotechnical guidelines for the design of pumping hydroelectric power station, which includes: engine room, pipeline and storage tank are prepared. The composition of guidelines will be an important contribution to the field of design of hydro energetic structures.
Significance for the country
The results of research project will be concretely applied at design and construction and exploration of the pumping hydroelectric power station Kozjak, which represents imposing and expensive project that request safe and optimal execution. The project will be executed in a way to interfere as less as possible the existing natural environment. The execution of proposed project will enable investor deepen existent knowledge and experiences at design construction and exploration of pumping power station in mountainous regions. Based on results of hydrological analyses will be possible more real estimation of intervention influences for environment on hydrological conditions within influence region of planned constructions. Co-founder will improve their so far existing references and acquire higher qualification level to perform teaching and professional work from the field of geology, geotechnical engineering, hydrology and environment engineering at design, construction and exploration of accumulation lakes and hydro energetic structures. The Guidelines for hydrogeology of influence region Kozjak and Guidelines for geotechnical design of hydro energetic structures will serve co-founder at design and realization, and exploration of the concrete pumping hydroelectric power station Kozjak.
