Abstract
The first liturgical books in Slovenian were published thirty years ago. They defined a liturgical register of the Slovenian language that is now no longer entirely functional due to the development of colloquial Slovenian over the decades. The preparation of new translations of liturgical books, which will correspond more closely to the current stage of language evolution, therefore requires a thorough analysis of the existing liturgical books in Slovenian and defining a terminology which will more adequately express liturgical content. New liturgical books, translated on the basis of such a study, will play an important role in the development of colloquial Slovenian and will represent a new expression of Slovenian faith.
