Abstract
The aim of the proposed project is development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic approaches in rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. In the first part of the project we will investigate the influence of contractures of some major muscles of the lower extremity on the altered gait pattern in neurologically intact individuals by the means of partly already developed methodology. In parallel we will develop technical solutions for dynamical orthoses that will enable "normalisation" of gait pattern to a significantly larger extent as is possible with the existing orthotics. In the last part of the project the newly acquired knowledge from the first part will be used for application of the developed dynamical orthoses on the selected patient. Clinical study of A-B-A type will be conducted to determine the clinical relevance.
