Abstract
Increasing pollution of the environment and expensive solutions for its rehabilitation at the same time stimulate the development of new, innovative and low cost methods to reduce especially organic and toxic loads. The purpose of the project is to develop and apply ecoremediation, based on the use of different plant species and microorganisms in situ for treatment and revitalisation of polluted water, sediment, and soil. With its long-term efficiency, inexpensiveness and aesthetic, this method has become worldwide extremely important. Development and use of ecoremediation for rehabilitation and revitalisation of running waters, landfill sites, protection and increasing of lake quality offer new possibilities of environment protection in Slovenia. Based on its simple application the requirements for EU integration could be easier and therefore quicker met.
