Abstract
The research agenda comprises the following key domains: 1. theoretical, comparative and historical sociology of the society in transition; 2. examining the analytical, historical and normative aspects of the integration processes in Europe and the unfolding globalization; 3. comparative analyses of religion in various social and cultural contexts, historical differentiation - search for a typology in this regard in the international and Slovenian social space; 4. gender studies, women's studies and feminist theory, the role of political system(s) and social mentalities as far as the social promotion of women is concerned; 5. East-Asian studies, in particular japonology and sinology, comprising the main areas of language, literature, history, philosophy, society, culture, religion and art - first centered on the civilizations of East Asia but later extending as well to Korea, Tibet and Mongolia; 6. the methodology of intercultural researches.
