Abstract
The Research Programme of the Institute of Labour Law of Law Faculty of Ljubljana University (Slovenia) is being performed on the two different bases. The first base is a scientific research exercised by the scientific stuff, which represents the nucleus of the research team, which is working on the Programme. The second base is the aplicative research in cooperation with the wider circle of professional staff from other academic institutions, institutions of “civil society” as well as the state institutions. The main object of research is the permanent analyses of legal system in relation to the social and economic relations in the modern societies and especially in countries in transition. The objective of the research is a critical approach to legal systems, the search of legal gaps and the search of possible modes of their elimination. From this point of view the research is focused on comparative analyses and the analyse of relation between national legal systems and international law. The specific subject of research is the Labour Law, the law of Social Security, legal aspects of Industrial Relations as well as the legal aspects of Human Resource Management. Results of the research are considered as essential support to the Slovenian legal system and as an important contribution to the processes of building of the “legal and social state”. The quality of the legal system and the efficiency in securing the rights of social partners and individuals are considered as an important factor in preventing and resolving conflicts in the area of labor and social relations. The research results are not important just in the area of science but also in the area of education and training. They also represent the important base for consulting activities. The results of the research are permanently transferred to interested audience by scientific media, including serial publications and monographs of the research team. The research team is also permanently active in organising the scientific and professional conferences, seminars and other activities, directed in creating a permanent link between the research team and the users of the research results.
