Abstract
Knowing thermodynamic and kinetic of processes in multicomponent systems enables development of metallic materials and process technologies in the field of steel making, heat engineering, atomisation and consolidation of powders. The thermo-mechanical treatment and addition of elements enables to control or accelerate some processes and properties. Scientific approach based on, crystallization, recrystallization, diffusion processes, martensitic, and other transformations as well as modelling and control of processes enables further development. Reduced content of residuals, gasses, non-metallic inclusions, reduced segregations, the increased solubility of elements in solid solution, the decrease of primary grains size, rapid solidification, precipitation and dispersion hardening, influence on improvement of mechanical properties, machinability, heat- and wear resistance, corrosion and other properties. In the semi solid state the low energy working is possible.The results of research influence also on better economy and ecology of melting, casting, hot and cold rolling, heat treatment, and enable the tailoring of new materials. Research of metallic materials is important also due their recyclability and ecological friendliness.
