Abstract
In the scope of shape optimal design of space frame structures, the following topics will be considered: introduction of structural eigenfrequency constraints into the design problem, adequate mapping of rotational quantities in order to prevent the singularity of the stiffness matrix of the employed beam element, a more effective shape representation technique, determination of periodic and aperiodic nonlinear response and optimal design of dynamically loaded beams and columns, stability of dynamically loaded mechanical systems, design reliability due to random deviations of dimensional parameters. The research in the area of optimising radial turbomachine operating characteristic contains the experimental and theoretical analyses of entrance and exit flow conditions in the radial impeller of turbomachine.
