Abstract
Within the project the typology of the existing steel structures will be elaborated regarding the type of structural system, connections and age. Typical structures will be selected for further analysis. Their actual seismic resistance will be assessed using numerical simulation and testing of typical connections in laboratory. The expected results of research project are the following : identification of inappropriate structural systems together with directives for repair in the most critical casses and recommendations for adequate approach to design and execution of steel structures.
