Abstract
Sudden death is the mode of dying in 50% of deceased due to diseases of circulatory system. Ischaemic heart disease is behind of it in 80%. In Slovenia we have registered only one tenth of the number which has been registered in Western countries. We are planning the case control study on out of hospital adult sudden cardiac death”s victims. We will match cases and controls by age and gender. We are estimating an incidence and odds ratio for sudden cardiac death. SCD is triggered by synergistic interplay of one or more triggering factors with pathological substrate, biochemical, haemodinamic and electric values accompanied by stress and socio-economic status of individual. We are expanding the knowledge of SCD in Slovenia.
