Abstract
Apoptosis is physiological process responsible for determination of the living age of an cell. Cells life is perfectly determined and after certain time cells die. Their death depends on several factors including harmful environmental influences or genetically determined factors. Morphologically those two kinds of deaths appears different. Apoptosis is of crucial importance in the time of ontogeny of the immune system. Immune cells with high affinity receptors for self antigens deteriorate on certain step of maturation because not to invade cells of its own organism when they become mature. Maturation of immune cells depends on many factors, some of them are the blood tissue growth factors, others cytokines and still other toxic agents used for the therapy, and some are inducible genetic regulators. The aim of our project is to study phenomenon of apoptosis in presence of tumors, viral or bacterial infection, under influence of cytostatic drug or cytokine therapy and immune dependent diseases. Project is based mainly on an animal model, but some of the data will be obtained also from human patients. Apoptosis phenomena will be followed in normal healthy individuals, in individuals after induction of disease and then in the process of therapy and prevention of disease.
