Abstract
The basic aim of the project PRIMER-ICT is to educate older population in ICTskills/practice using inter-generational and multi-sectoral approach to education - we willeducate students from health and ICT related fields, which will be educating both elderlyand the multipliers, who will then educate elderly.The contents of e-learning courses will be prepared in languages of all participatingcountries and will be aimed to educators/trainers, multipliers and elderly. PRIMER-ICTproject will also develop portals which will enable connecting participants throughvarious forms of communication like e-mail, chat rooms, forums and blogs; they will alsoinclude daily overview of news and events.E-learning courses will implement different didactic approaches like problem basedlearning, enquiry based learning, active learning and experiential learning. To preparethe e-learning materials, MetaTool for creation of adaptive and flexible course materialswill be used. Moodle open source platform extended with MetaTool plug-ins enablingpersonalization of learning paths for each individual trainee will be used for onlinelearning.Main result of project will be socially integrated elderly that are able to accessinformation which will help them to improve their well being and quality of life. At thesame time PRIMER-ICT will develop wide network of educators and multipliers, whichwill have the knowledge and experience in working with elderly and also various ICTskills. In that manner we will ensure the continuous growth of the network and thereafterthe spread ICT education and use between more and more elderly
