Abstract
the aim of the project was the analysis of young generation responses to current societal and life circumstances, especially to the troubles caused by the series of transitions in Slovenia. The analysis was based on two types of data: 1. the empirical research on a sample of 1685 young people (14-16 years old) was used to illustrate the present social and life circumstances, in particular those concerning the troubles caused by transition processes in Slovenia. 2. the qualitative study (case study) was used to study social vulnerability of specific social groups of young people. It seems that youth in Slovenia is mainly following the generl aspirations of (post)modern youth, characterised by a divergence from great social topics ideologies and historical narratives, and turn towards a world of privacy and every day life. Young people in Slovenia are becoming more sensitive to threatening of their life opportunities. The current unformed and inexpressive character of the younger generation can be explained as the belated negative effect of the abolishment and overcoming of youth or the social deconstruction of youth.
